You don’t watch Electrolytes to find out what happens. You watch because you don’t want it to stop. Its glowing orange, deep purple and almost-liquid surfaces have a pull of their own. There’s nothing you need to figure out before you can enjoy it.
It started with taste
Sukhova’s explanation is wonderfully simple: she missed these textures and colours. She blended six Midjourney style references, animated the results in FLORA and put the film together in CapCut. It began with a look she wanted to explore, and the tools gave her a way to explore it.
The look is the idea
What makes it work is how completely that look takes over. Objects, clothes and abstract forms all seem to belong to the same strange place. The colours connect them; the drifting movement makes them feel slightly out of reach.
That is enough to hold the film together. The images don’t need to explain something else or lead up to a reveal. They are the thing you came to see. Sukhova has shared the recipe, but what makes us keep watching is the particular world she made with it.
