AiCandy’s Energym has found a new role for humanity, and the sales pitch is horrifyingly cheerful.

It is 2036. AI has taken the jobs. Energym has a solution: put the unemployed on exercise machines and use their bodies to generate the power the AI needs.

Hans Buyse and Jan De Loore of AiCandy present this arrangement through a fictional mockumentary with imagined future versions of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Sam Altman. The people have a purpose again. The machines have electricity. Everyone explaining the plan appears delighted with it.

You can hear the appeal of the pitch while the terrible bargain underneath it becomes clearer. Humanity has been welcomed back into the economy, one workout at a time.
