Matei Convard’s brother makes electronic music. For OSR Player, Convard started with a question: what if listening to a track also meant being able to play with it?

You can take out the bass, hear the drums on their own or add reverb. The separate layers of the recording become controls to try, so the next listen can sound a little different from the last.

Built with Claude Code for Obsimo’s music, the player looks like a small white music gadget, complete with a green display. It is easy to imagine picking it up and pressing a button just to hear what happens.
